Fashion & Accessory

The given task today, was to design some ideas on models from the Magazines. The ideas are from the previous day, how we've made the structure and textures.

The whole class, Fashion ideas:

Fashion & Textiles

Paper Manipulation

First day of the week for fashion and textiles, i was so excited. I love Textiles, and texture. All i thought about was what will i be doing for the week, I've been waiting for quite some time and here it come; Paper manipulation.
Not exactly what i expected, since i find my weakness in fashion as structure. So all my excited was all just gone. Ooh well, fashion is fashion ill do anything to succeed.

First initial task was to create create texture and structure with paper, and use any of the equipment that was given.
Here is what i created:

Later on, we got put into groups of 3/4's and everyone had to bring all the structural and textural pieces they've created, to make a garment out of them.
Each garment had a theme, according to the theme we had to create a relevant outcome.
The first piece was to just experiment with our own paper samples. On the other hand, the other garments we had to keep moving right in every 5 to 10 minutes.

Original Piece ( Front And Back ):

Focusing on the shoulder, where we thought overlapping was a good idea, that way all the attention would directly go towards the shoulder, it almost felt like a shoulder pad.

Sexy was the next theme, so my group thought it was okay to have some skin showing. Hang on! It was almost naked. I tried to convince my group, that it wasn't exactly meant to look like it was exposing itself, maybe a tight skin skirt was more relevant ?

Gothic - I think this was my personal favourite out all the ones Ive done in group works, because of the way it represents itself on the mannequin, it really does look Gothic with the shapes and structure.

Romantic, i believe that this one has no relevance to the theme, if i was to refine, what me and my group have done, most certainly leave it simple and make it elegant.

Bottom exaggeration ? I loved this one. The out come was very successful, and exaggerated. perfectly related to the theme.

Go Wild. I really like this theme, it gives you the freedom to play around with all the all the samples you have, with no specific idea/ clue of what your about to do.

Storyboard

Second day of Lens based Media, we got put into groups of four and had to draw what we were told in order to come out with an creative and unique storyboard with every ones ideas meshed together. At first we told to draw a mixture of characters that we: love, fear, find interesting and someone we only saw once, who looked interesting enough for us to remember by the one time glance. Then a mixture of places with the same feelings and thoughts. It went on and on until the A1 sheet we all shared was fully loaded with no space.

Later on, when we had to create 3 storyboards with this outcome. At first it seemed difficult, however we just gradually just completed the three storyboards and they were  fantastic. I was really impressed with our outcome, on how create it could be, when in a group and everyone knowing what they were supposed to do. ed
Our group was probably most successful with the outcome and presentation. Using every ones drawings/ sketches these were our masterpieces:

We Chose to present the first storyboard out of the three, which was very successful.
This is how the A1 sheet looked in the end of the day:

Six ?

We got given another brief on taking photographs, all around the building at ravensbourne that was testing our knowledge on how we understood certain words of emotions and feelings.

These Six words were :
Crush, Fall, Jump, Echo, Sad, Happy
Here Is my understanding of these feelings:

Fall -

Echo -

Sad -

Jump -

Happy -

Crush -

The Exterior

The Chosen Photo:

The reason why I've chosen this image was entirely because i have a really bad memory from last year, Christmas. Basically during Christmas last year, it was heavily snowing and almost impossible to walk after the snow started melting and froze into ice. Trying to walk from one side to the other, i slipped so bad and if it wasn't for this window, that i held on... I probably would of slided to the other side of the road.

Having a Memory with this window, i thought why not? Perfect with my project so i decided to go with this image.

Here is my Drawn version of this Photo:

A Rough drawing i did in charcoal.

I really don't like this 15 minute drawing, however if i was to refine my sketch, i would most certainly add more detail on the lightening and perhaps change the media Ive used. Instead of charcoal i would possibly use ink and Biro together or just a simple pencil study.

After drawing my sketch, the next step was to Focus on a certain section of my final outcome, in order to zoom in and focus on that shown section.
I chose to do a simple one and played around with the other two to see what sout of outcome i would have, here are the results:

My Personal Favourite one, is the one i did last, considering how i've cut it up. I really like the focus as well. This is because, it doesnt look like the orginal photo, yet again you can still realise that its got something to do with bricks and theres a corner in the center of the focus.

If i was to Refine my work i would, neaten up my cutouts and try to make it look more unique as well as make a pattern out of my focus; which would be a brillant idea.

Lens Base Media

Photography

Our first task for LBM, this week was to bring a selection of photographs that we've taken ourselves of which that represented and demonstrated our daily Environment.

Here are some of my photographs, that i thought were relevant for this task:

This is where i keep most of my jewellery

These are three pomegranate, in Turkey they believe that these bring hope to your home.

This is my wall, where i stick notes around, in case i forget certain dates and that big piece of art, is my silk painting I've done last year at 6thform.

Here are my collection of portfolio's, however my A1 portfolio couldn't make it, due to the reason that its still at my previous 6th form, which i haven't collected yet.
One is A2, and the other two are A3.

This is the corner that i visit quite often in my home, due to the reason it right across the door. Its two decorative mirrors and 7 elephants with the Turkish evil eye.
These 7 elephants bring luck, and its very common for Turkish and Indian cultures, and the Turkish evil eye, is supposed to protect you from anything evil.

This is were i hang my Jackets and Coats, and underneath it is all shoe collection.

This is my Exterior door of my Home in close up, i wanted a photo of the 4 ladybirds, that my mum thought was a good idea to stick them on the exterior of the house. Maybe, not such a good idea?

This also is the same Door, but the interior of my home, where yet again my mother decides to stick another Turkish evil eye, i thought this was an interesting photo, due to the collaboration of all the locks together.

This is windoe of my Kitchen on the exterior of my home, which i like the angle of the photo ive taken it from, and i find the lightening of the image ineteresting.
