After buzzing around the Victoria and Albert museum to see the Memory palace, it was time...
First attempt; I Loved itt! it was beautifully set within the space it was used and the the works that was displayed was all fascinating. All the rooms and the map was very thoughtfully done in detail. As you look around and explore the exhibition, the end was very unique and structured... Leaving a memory.
Leave a Memory
This was one of my favourites, where you could draw and/or write something on the boards and it would appear on the screen and place your memory on the big screen, next to everyone elses. It was very creative and imaginative.
Story of The Memeory Palace:
Hari Kunzru, the author with 20 specially commissioned installations by illustrators, garphic designers and typograghers. In order to create such a beautiful exhibiton where he used a space in which to place memories.
This was set in the futuristic based London, after Hundreds of years the worlds information framework was wiped out by a storm. Where the dark age overcame, the loss of technology and knowledge.
Old city was taken over by nature, and power was seized by a group who evoke a life of severe simplicity on all citizens; Recording, writing, collecting.
The Narrator was accused of being a member of a banned sect, who returned the ancient 'Art of Memory', and then got in prison. It was a struggle to remember the past in the furture, where forgetting became offical policy for generations. Prison cell was located in the 'Memory Palace', because of the narrators memories. "He clings to his belief that without memory, civilisation is doomed".
